Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CKBP website and the handyman services provided by CKBP (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting services, booking an appointment, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

CKBP provides residential and light commercial handyman services in Ontario, Canada, including repairs, maintenance, installations, and emergency services (“Services”). All Services are subject to availability, site conditions, and acceptance of the job scope by CKBP.

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue Services at our discretion, including where working conditions are unsafe or beyond the scope of handyman services.

2. Service Area

Our primary service area includes the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding areas. Travel charges may apply outside our standard service area and will be disclosed where applicable.

3. Regular Service Hours

Regular service hours are:

  • 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM

  • Monday through Friday

  • Excluding Ontario statutory holidays

Services provided during regular service hours are billed at standard rates unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Emergency Services

Emergency services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including weekends and statutory holidays, for situations requiring immediate attention, including but not limited to:

  • Safety hazards

  • Active leaks or water damage

  • Loss of essential services

  • Conditions posing risk to persons or property

CKBP retains sole discretion to determine whether a request qualifies as an emergency service call.

5. Emergency Service Classification

A service call shall be classified as an Emergency Service Call if it:

  • Occurs between 7:30 PM and 6:00 AM,

  • Occurs on weekends, or

  • Occurs on Ontario statutory holidays,

or if immediate response is required regardless of time of day.

Once classified as an Emergency Service Call, emergency rates apply regardless of job duration or outcome.

6. Emergency Service Rates

Emergency Service Calls are billed as follows:

  • $175 for the first 30 minutes (labour only)

  • $150 per hour thereafter

  • Parts, materials, supplies, and disposal fees are additional

Emergency service rates are minimum charges and are non-negotiable once emergency service is requested or required.

7. Pricing, Estimates, and Additional Work

All pricing is based on visible conditions and information available at the time of assessment. Estimates are not guarantees.

If additional work is required due to hidden conditions or changes in scope, additional charges may apply. Where reasonably possible, customer authorization will be obtained prior to proceeding.

8. Parts and Materials

Labour rates do not include parts or materials unless expressly stated in writing. Customer-supplied materials are used at the customer’s risk and are not warranted by CKBP.

9. Payment Terms

Payment is due immediately upon completion of Services unless otherwise agreed in writing. CKBP reserves the right to require deposits or full payment in advance, particularly for emergency services.

Applicable taxes, including HST, will be added in accordance with Ontario law. Unpaid balances may result in service refusal or collection actions.

10. Cancellations and Access

Customers are responsible for providing safe, clear, and timely access to the service location. Missed appointments or cancellations without reasonable notice may result in a service fee.

11. Safety and Right to Refuse Service

CKBP reserves the right to refuse or discontinue Services if conditions are unsafe, hazardous, illegal, or beyond the scope of handyman work. No refunds will be issued for work completed prior to service refusal.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, CKBP shall not be liable for:

  • Pre-existing conditions

  • Hidden or latent defects

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Damage resulting from customer-supplied materials

CKBP’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific Services rendered.

13. No Guarantee of Outcomes

While we strive for quality workmanship, CKBP does not guarantee outcomes where results depend on factors beyond our control, including structural conditions, material quality, or prior work performed by others.

14. Website Use

Use of our website does not create a service agreement. Information provided on the website is for general purposes only and may be updated without notice.

15. Privacy

Personal information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

​

16. Changes to Terms

CKBP reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website and are effective immediately upon posting.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
